Tennessee

The threshold for payment of prevailing wage in Tennessee is $50,000, but only for highway construction. No prevailing wage is owed on non-highway construction.

Compliance Tips:

  • Each highway contractor and subcontractor subject to this part shall post and keep posted in a conspicuous place at the site of the construction work a copy of the prevailing wage rates prescribed in the state contract.
  • The Prevailing Wage Commission (PWC) is responsible for determining the prevailing wage rate for state highway (i.e. highways, roads and bridges) construction projects.
