The threshold for payment of prevailing wage in Tennessee is $50,000, but only for highway construction. No prevailing wage is owed on non-highway construction.
Compliance Tips:
Each highway contractor and subcontractor subject to this part shall post and keep posted in a conspicuous place at the site of the construction work a copy of the prevailing wage rates prescribed in the state contract.
The Prevailing Wage Commission (PWC) is responsible for determining the prevailing wage rate for state highway (i.e. highways, roads and bridges) construction projects.
